JEREMY SCOTT & ADIDAS OFFICIALLY REPRISE COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIP

Woody Rockwell June 2, 2021

Before collaborations became mainstream, there was Jeremy Scott x adidas. Eclectic, bizarre, and yet all the rage, the designer’s Three Striped offerings defined the sneaker culture of the late 2000s and beyond, appearing on the feet of notable celebrities like A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, and even the ever-revered Kanye West.

Earlier today, without any warning, Jeremy Scott and adidas have officially confirmed that they’re reprising their collaborative relationship, with the first release to arrive Fall 2021. We can expect not only footwear — likely some revivals of old favorites — but also apparel and accessories, all lensed through Scott’s playful and recognizable design language.

“Partnering again with adidas feels like a homecoming and I’m thrilled to be home,” Jeremy Scott exclaimed.

As we await further details on the Fall 2021 line-up, enjoy a brief short of the collaboration’s past greats below.

On June 2nd, adidas announced that it’d be renewing its partnership with American designer, Jeremy Scott. And although their first collection was teased as launching in fall, official images have recently emerged of what seems like the collaboration’s first drop: four rather tonal colorways of the adidas Forum Hi.

The adidas Originals canvas isn’t new to the Moschino creative director, but the latest propositions diverge from Scott’s past work. Instead of protruding wings at the profiles or plush teddy bears at the tongue, Scott’s quartet of the adidas Forum sports uniform orange, green, blue and black ensembles. This batch of sneakers is surely the first of dozens prepped for the renewal of one of the most-coveted shoe lines of the early to mid-2010s, but they might lead many eager fans – in particular those who’ve been following Scott’s namesake label for decades – to feel underwhelmed. The Three Stripes hasn’t hidden how much it’s pushing the Forum, but perhaps it should’ve only green-lit pairs infused with the rebellious spirit Jeremy Scott has put forth since 1997, especially given that its platform helped bring bold design after bold design to the masses. For the time being, glossy, monochromatic pairs with the designer’s face on the tongue will have to do, but fingers are crossed for a retro roster from the compelling partnership.

Enjoy official images of all four pairs here below, and anticipate Scott’s first Three Stripes collaboration in years to launch via the adidas CONFIRMED app by autumn.

Elsewhere under the adidas umbrella, Kanye West has prepped over a dozen YEEZY restocks between now and November.

BEYONCE'S IVY PARK X ADIDAS

Woody Rockwell April 4, 2019

Today, adidas announces a multi-layered partnership with Beyoncé. This newfound union with the all-time star will include a signature line of footwear and apparel as well as the re-launch of Ivy Park, the singer’s athleisure line that originally debuted in 2016. In addition to releasing a collection of products, Beyoncé will also champion the ideals of inspiring and empowering the next generation of creators, driving positive change in the world through sport, and identifying new business opportunities.

Beyoncé, despite her status as one of the most attractive celebrity draws for nearly two decades, has never truly had a major shoe deal with a sportswear brand. The forthcoming release of the first sneaker as part of this collaborative venture with adidas will be her first foray into the world of sneakers, which leads us to wonder – could Beyonce create a women’s line as powerful as adidas Yeezy?

Renowned not only for her music but also her style and indomitable confidence, Beyonce has slowly and painfully teased her own forthcoming adidas collaboration for quite some time. With fellow artists the likes of Pusha T and even Childish Gambino joining the ranks of the Three Stripes, it’s only fitting they leave room for the queen. Reinventing the wheel — one well worth making a comeback — the living legend has wrought an imaginative interpretation of the Samba silhouette as part of her “IVY PARK” thematics. Certainly joined by an expansive set of apparel, the shoe itself has no problems standing on its own, removing itself from its usual sportswear ethos with a chunky platform sole atop a base of what looks to be premium leathers. While the bottoms dye in dark gum shade, the rest is quite unassuming as a fitting starting point for the model itself, painting the suede toe caps with light gray then leaving all else relatively colorless — tongues, heel counters, and so on — though accents by way of the three stripes at the side and heel tab boldly display a sultry grape shade which is complemented by a swirled cord wrapped just around the entire back up to the vamp. Elsewhere, laces atop their ribbed and “IVY PARK” branded backdrop relatively are minimal to say the least, looping through only four total eye stays that are themselves constructed of the same thin string.

Grab a quick look at these as well as some unsurprisingly seductive campaign imagery right here, and sit tight as these were confirmed by Beyonce herself to be releasing on January 18th, the perfect open for the brand’s 2020 affairs. via sneaker news by michael le
